Veritas Financial Counseling Program

This program is for you if:

  • You’ve never been taught how to manage your money
  • Your money is controlling you rather than you controlling it
  • You have more debt than you are comfortable with
  • You want to be debt free
  • You and your spouse don’t communicate well about money
  • You aren’t saving adequately for the future
  • You want to be equipped with the basic tools you need to manage your money effectively
  • You want to learn and live by Catholic principles for managing money   

 

The Veritas Financial Counseling Program makes a great gift. Consider giving it to:

Structure of the Veritas Financial Counseling Program

  • Initial Consultation (Estimated time - Two hours)
    • Initial interview
    • Analyze current financial situation using the Balance Sheet, Summary of Debts, and Veritas Guideline Budget
    • Discuss personal, spiritual and financial goals for the future
    • Introduce the Accelerator Repayment Plan and discuss strategy for accelerating debt repayment
    • Introduce and discuss the Spending Diary
  • Session One (Estimated time - One hour)
    • Discuss what it means to be a Steward of Providence
    • Examine and discuss spending diary
  • Session Two (Estimated time - One hour)
    • Learn what the Bible and Catechism teach about marriage and work
    • Review updated Balance Sheet, Summary of Debts, and Spending Diary
    • Continue updating Accelerator Repayment plan and note progress to date
  • Session Three (Estimated time - One hour)
    • Discuss the topics of children and money as well as the call to be generous
    • Create your Veritas Budget in light of your call to be a Steward of Providence
    • Review updated Accelerator Repayment Plan and note progress to date
  • Session Four (Estimated time - One hour)
    • Understand the difference between productive and unproductive debt and learn how to avoid unproductive debt in the future
    • Review updated Accelerator Repayment Plan and progress to date
    • Plan how to reach your goals by saving and investing with a purpos
  • Session Five (Estimated time - One hour)
    • Learn to change old spending habits and become a smart spender
    • Review general insurance needs
    • Review updated Accelerator Repayment Plan and note progress to date
    • Review updated saving and retirement plan
  • Session Six (Estimated time – One hour)
    • General review of personal, spiritual and financial goals for the future and progress update

All sessions will open and close in prayer. Homework will be assigned and is required to be completed prior to each counseling session. All financial forms to be completed will be those from the My Veritas Plan section at www.VeritasFinancialMinistries.com.


           
Follow-up Hourly Counseling Sessions

These sessions are designed as a follow up to the Veritas Financial Counseling program. Questions are submitted in advance. Only available to graduates of the Veritas Financial Counseling program.

 

Fees for counseling

  • Veritas Financial Counseling - $700 total ($100 per session)
  • Hourly Counseling Sessions - $100 per hour
  • Partial scholarships available based on circumstances
  • Prepayment required prior to each session
